Falcon Rundown 1.3.17

This release adds production-planning tools, more flexible columns, saved workspace layouts and a range of visual and reliability improvements.

Story timing and production planning

  • Every story can now have an optional Hit Time.
  • The new To Next column shows the time from the current story to the next story.
  • Hit Time and To Next can be entered manually. Manual values are shown in green so they are easy to identify.
  • Automatically calculated values remain linked to the rundown schedule, and the reset control is placed inside the time field.
  • Empty Hit Time fields stay hidden until the edit button is selected, keeping the Story List compact.
  • Changing the rundown start time or numbering mode now updates the open rundown immediately.

Columns

  • A new Columns button opens a list where columns can be shown or hidden. The choice is saved in the current browser.
  • Custom columns now support multiline text and multi-select element lists.
  • Selected elements are displayed as clear colour-coded labels, one per line.
  • Built-in Story List column titles can be renamed as part of a column set.
  • The Manage Columns window and its White Mode presentation have been improved.
  • The last selected item in a multi-select field can now be removed correctly.

Workspace story item names

Workspace administrators can rename the standard story item labels, including Input, Video, Graphic, Sound, Light, Props and Instruction. The names are shared across the workspace and are used in the Story Editor, Sidenotes and Print Options. The compact Sidenotes colour selector uses the first two letters of each custom name.

Story windows and workspace layouts

  • Story windows can be arranged as Floating, Grid, Rows or Columns.
  • Open rundowns are available as tabs, and individual windows can be maximised or restored.
  • The view selector is available directly in the story window title bar.
  • The current arrangement can be saved as a personal workspace layout for the project.
  • Active window and tab highlights now use Falcon blue.

Files and images

  • Uploaded images use proportional thumbnails with a maximum height of 100 pixels for faster Story Editor loading.
  • Hovering over a thumbnail opens a larger preview using the original image.
  • Polling no longer recreates unchanged image rows, preventing the regular image flash.
  • Deleting an image also removes its generated thumbnail.
  • The file bar, edit information and lock footer no longer overlap.

Interface improvements

  • White Mode now has clearer selected rows, buttons, bars and scrollbars.
  • Break summaries adapt sooner on narrow windows and avoid overlapping text.
  • The rundown context menu is cleaner and left-aligned.
  • Several alignment, spacing and responsive layout issues have been corrected.
