Falcon Play Director

Falcon Play Director is the main user interface of the Falcon Play ecosystem — the control center where video, graphics, audio, and automation come together in one unified timeline.

This is the page you’ll use every day in production — whether you’re directing live shows, building rundowns, or cueing elements in sync with your vision mixer and playout servers.

Overview

The Director interface is divided into several key sections, each designed for fast and reliable control during live productions:

Left Sidebar – Elements Library

Here you can browse and manage all your available assets:

  • Inputs – Vision mixer inputs such as cameras or external feeds.

  • Video – Your media library, including playout clips and bumpers.

  • Graphics – CG templates, HTML graphics, and lower thirds.

  • Functions – Automation actions and macros.

  • Rundowns – The structured playlist of your show.

You can open the Media Manager to import or browse media from the Falcon File Server and drag items directly into the rundown.

Center – Rundown Timeline

The rundown is the heart of Falcon Play.
Each line represents an element — video, graphic, or function — that can be played, previewed, or cued.

  • A/B Servers – Falcon Play automatically switches between Server A and B for seamless playback.

  • Preview/Next indicators – Color-coded cues show which item is on-air and which is next.

  • Timers – Real-time counters show remaining time, total rundown duration, and deviation.

  • Actions & Macros – Linked to each item to trigger mixer cuts, sound fades, or graphics.

You can reorder, duplicate, or delete rundown items instantly without interrupting playout.

Video Preview Window

A live thumbnail window lets you preview currently playing or cued media.
It supports video playout monitoring and confirms the correct file is loaded before air.

Control Bar (Bottom)

The bottom control panel shows the live state of all connected servers:

  • Server A–D – Real-time status, loaded clip, and current time.

  • Preview / Graphic A / Graphic B – Current preview and graphic playout channels.

  • Rundown Timers – Total time left, expected end time, and current deviation.

This area gives you a complete operational overview of your show timing and playout health.
